“ My wife and I were in Panama City Beach and decided to take the long walk to American Charlie. The place is adorned with veteran items and the staff was really good. The people next to us were really obnoxious, but that isn't the restaurant's fault. I ordered a grouper sandwich and a side salad with dressing on the side. The side salad was good size and fresh ingredients, always a plus when the ingredients are not skimpy. The fish was perfectly cooked on a fresh roll with nice lettuce and tomato. I got a couple of fresh IPAs to go with the meal and overall it was fantastic! ”

“ We been coming to PCB for years and always look for restaurants that we haven't tried and Idk how we've missed this one,but the FOOD WAS GREAT.. We had a variety of food...sampler trio(wings,shrimp,quesdilla),the gulf mac&cheese, pot roast, collard greens, kids meals(cheeseburger,shrimp,and chicken).Every thing was served fresh and hot. I forgot the servers name but she was great and very attentive. The manager guy as well. Definitely worth trying and the stars I've given. I love the military decor ”

“ If I could give this place six stars, I would--but apparently, that's not a thing. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The place was spotless--so clean I half expected the floor to squeak when I walked. The service? Impeccable. I think my drink was refilled before I even realized I was thirsty. And the food? Let's just say if my grandma knew I ate here, she'd feel threatened. Every bite was so good I briefly considered licking the plate, but I have some dignity (barely). If you're looking for a spot with top-notch food, amazing service, and a level of cleanliness that would make a germaphobe weep with joy--this is it. ”

“ My wife and I have stopped in twice over the last week as we have been impressed by the food, service, and their dedication to veterans. It seems they have daily specials. Taco Tuesday with margaritas being one and another having $5 Manhattan's after 5 PM! All the staff that we have interacted with were friendly and professional. I thought their gumbo was extremely delicious as was their shrimp Poboy. My wife is enjoyed a couple of adult beverages as I have as well. They know how to make Manhattans and whiskey sours! If you're in the area, it's a great spot to stop! We recommend them! Keep up the great work! ”

“ When you think of Americana food, nothing fits the bill better than American Charlie's, which has that classic tavern look focusing on eagles and flags. Service was very good. I ordered a surf & turf quesadilla (ribeye and shrimp) and it was interesting but the cheese wasn't wholly melted. Also we ordered a cup of gumbo and a cup of clam chowder. Both were okay but I was disappointed that three or four spoonfuls of a soup cost $9-10. The server even recommended against ordering it. Not worth it. I'd come back, but would order something else. ”

“ If you're in the Edgewater area of PCB, do yourself a favor and stop by American Charlie's--you won't regret it! The food here is absolutely fantastic. We started with their nacho plate, and let me tell you, if you're a nacho lover, this dish is a must-try. Piled high with beans, queso, sour cream, and so much more, these nachos are not only delicious but also huge! Be sure to bring your appetite or some friends to share with. For our main course, we had the fish basket, and it did not disappoint. The cod was perfectly cooked--flaky, flavorful, and just what we were hoping for. The fries were equally impressive, crispy and seasoned just right. The service was top-notch as well. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without feeling rushed. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting and relaxed, with a nice mix of tables, booths, and bar seating. Plus, they have the game on TV, which adds to the laid-back vibe. “ Worthy of dinner and drinks. 1) we had the smoked old fashioneds and honestly they were really tasty. I rarely like an old fashioned out because I make a good one at home. 2) the shrimp tacos were great. And I'm saying that after they sat in a to go container for 90 min. They were probably even better if I'd eaten them fresh. 3) the hush puppies were utterly garbage. They were obviously from frozen. They sucked. They were just fried bread. Pass hard on these. 4) the live music was good! It was a hair loud but not terrible. I'd totally come back here when in town. ”

“ I came during happy hour with my boyfriend and his mom. It took a little too long to get seated but when we did service was prompt and everything came out right. The waitress was friendly and patient. I ordered the blackened grouper and was pleasantly surprised by the flavoring. I appreciated that the mashed potatoes weren't overly buttered or salted. The buffalo wings were positively received and at happy hour pricing it was good value (5 wings for $6). Lots of seating and plenty of parking. I will say the price of the fish dishes is quite steep, but there are lots of cheaper options on the menu and happy hour also helps. ”
